Srikalahasteeswara Institute of Technology (APEAMCET college Code: SKHE) popularly known as SKIT has been established in the year 1997 by Srikalahasteeswara Swami vari Devasthanam which was emerged as a major technological institute in the backward region of Rayalaseema. The Sri Kalahastheeswara Institute of Technology is located at the holy temple town of Srikalahasthi and it is 39kms away from Tirupati City (world famous piligrim centre).
The SKIT is under the management of Srikalahasteeswara Swami Vari Devasthanam and is headed by the Commissioner, Endowments Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh as the Chairman of SKIT. The Executive Officer, Srikalahasteeswara Swami Vari Devasthanam, Srikalahasthi, is the Corresopondent of SKIT. The campus is spread across 50 acres and is conveniently located at Srikalahasthi on Nayudupeta - Puthalapattu National Highway NH-140.
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2004 with an intake of 60 seats. The Department also offers Diploma in Civil Engineering in the year 2009 with an intake of 60 seats. The Department has well experienced faculty, skilled technical staff and well equipped laboratories. The Department has been always in the forefront in organizing student benefit Programs like Technical paper Presentations, Quiz Programs and Workshops related to latest updated technologies.
To produce Civil engineers with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes those who can be entrusted by the society to lead a sustainable world with enhanced quality of life.
The Internet Lab has 8 Mbps leased line internet facility and 40 Mbps NMEICT VPNOBB to cater the needs of the students, research scholars and faculty of SKIT.
As a part of continuing education, the department organizes various guest lectures, seminars and workshops by inviting people from Academia and Industry. We have been associated with eminent industries to carry-out research/consultancy work.
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering discipline today is multi-disciplinary in nature representing a veritable synergy of
different technologies ranging from artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic, micro-controllers and digital signal processing to core subjects
of generation, transmission and distribution of power, power systems and their control using computer methods/models etc.
The Electrical and Electronic Engineering program provides breadth (core courses), depth (elective sequence), and a culminating experience to practice the design knowledge gained through the curriculum. The program motivates students to appreciate the connectedness among abstract ideas, applications, their classes, and their careers. The electrical engineering core is emphasized, providing students with a broad undergraduate electrical engineering education. The Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, established in 1997, has been so structured, in terms of experienced staff and excellent laboratory facilities, as to Equip the students with knowledge of cutting edge technologies and Give them adequate hands-on experience through laboratory work, innovative projects in Industry and Research Establishments, seminars/workshops and so on. The Department offers 4 years B.Tech Programme in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with 60 students as in take and also offers 3 year diploma course with 60 students as in take.

One of the founding departments of SKIT, the Mechanical Engineering Department played a leading role in evolving an 'Engineering Science'
based curriculum, and served as a role model for many academic institutes in the country. Mechanical Engineering is often called
the mother of all engineering. It covers a host of subjects: properties of materials, structural design, material processing, manufacturing,
heat engines, refrigeration and air conditioning, industrial management, robotics and much more.
The department of Mechanical Engineering was started in the year 1997 and since then it has been contributing its due share of
the Mechanical Engineers for international and national needs. The AICTE/JNTU has sanctioned M.Tech (CAD/CAM) course and
B.Tech Mechanical (Mechatronics) Engineering from this academic year 2010-11. The department has Excellent infrastructure facilities and
modern laboratories. The department has maintains a close liaison with industries and ensures that students are trained as for global requirements.
The department currently runs one diploma, two undergraduate and one postgraduate programmes:
* Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with intake of 60 students.
* B. Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) with intake of 120 students.
* B. Tech. (Mechatronics Engineering) with intake of 60 students.
* M.Tech. (CAD/CAM) with intake of 18 students.
